Mercer  Concert by the Gawler Family Band.   At least 3 Gawler members or more will participate in the concert. At the Mercer Community Center, 1015 Beech Hill Rd. which is in Mercer, at the blinking lights, 4 miles East on Rt. 2 from New Sharon. This concert is made possible by a grant from the Maine Community Foundation Expansion Arts Fund. 3 pm. Portland  Shape Note Singing.   First Sunday of every month from 2-5 pm at The New Church, 302 Stevens Ave., Portland. This four-part singing tradition, also known as Shape Note Singing, originated in New England during the 19th century. Interesting, strong and soulful, Sacred Harp Singing is enjoying a revival nationwide. This is not a performance -- everyone is welcome to participate.
