Wednesday, September 17
Stockton Springs  Concert by George Skala, preceded by open mic.   This exciting new monthly series is held at the Sandy Point Community Hall at 684 US Rt. 1. It's only 15 minutes from Belfast. From May through October on every third Wednesday there will be an open mic at 6:30 followed by a featured performer. George Skala is an accomplished singer/songwriter from Stockton Springs. Admission to the concert and open mic is on a sliding scale from $3 to $10, with children under 18 free. Info: 567-4044 or davandfranplus@gmail.com.

Bangor  Contradance with music by the Trad Heads and calling by Maggie Robinson.   Unitarian Universalist Church, 120 Park Street, downtown Bangor.  Beginners' session at 7:30 PM; dance at 8. Brunswick  International Folk Dancing.   Music and dance from the Balkans, Israel, northern Europe, and around the globe. Fridays, 6:30, at People Plus, 35 Union St., one block west of Maine St. Donation $8 ($5 for students, seniors). Bowdoinham  Bowdoinham Contradance with Acoustic Contraption from Bangor/Orono area, (Anthony Viselli on mandolin, Ryu Mitsuhashi on fiddle, Sam Furth on guitar), calling by Bill Olson.   Contras at Bowdoinham Town Hall, School Street, at the top of the hill. All dances taught, beginners welcome. Pownal  Community Folk Dance - Family Dance.   4:30 - 6 pm, Pownal town hall, (Mallett Hall on Rt. 9 just north of blinking light at Elmwood Rd.) All welcome (even if you and all others in your family are over 18.) Dance, dance, dance around the world and back. Pownal  International Folk Dance.   6 - 9ish pm.
