Portland  Shape Note Singing.   First Sunday of every month from 1-4 pm at The New Church, 302 Stevens Ave., Portland. This four-part singing tradition, also known as Shape Note Singing, originated in New England during the 19th century. Interesting, strong and soulful, Sacred Harp Singing is enjoying a revival nationwide. This is not a performance -- everyone is welcome to participate. Stockton Springs  Concert by the Gawlers, preceded by open mic.   An exciting new monthly series held at the Sandy Point Community Hall at 684 US Rt. 1. It's only 15 minutes from Belfast. From May through October on every third Wednesday there will be an open mic at 6:30 pm, followed by a featured performer. The Gawlers are a fun loving, folk singing, fiddle playing family you won't want to miss!
