Belfast  Community Dance with an open All-Comers Band and Chrissy Fowler calling. Community Dance, Tasty Treat Potluck break and Contradance with various Featured Bands and Callers. Falmouth   Contradance with Various Featured Bands and Callers. Falmouth Congregational Church Hall, 267 Falmouth Rd. next to the Town Office. 7:15-7:45 p.m. dance instruction, 8-midnight contras and more. Dessert potluck and door prizes during the break. First Sunday

Portland   Sacred Harp Singing. First Sunday of every month from 1 - 4 p.m. at the New Church at 302 Stevens Street. This is not a performance -- everyone is welcome to participate. This four-part singing tradition, also known as Shape Note Singing, originated in New England during the 19th century. Interesting, strong and soulful, Sacred Harp Singing is enjoying a revival nationwide. Contact Chris Holley 207-677-6437 for more info.
 
Pownal   International Folk Dance. Town Hall, 7 - 9ish pm. at the Town Hall, (Mallett Hall on Rt. 9 just north of blinking light at Elmwood Rd.) Enjoy traditional music and dance from the Balkans, Israel, France, Greece, and around the world. Mixed level dances will be taught from 7 to 8 pm. followed by requests. $5, (children $3). Belfast   Shape Note Singing First Church Parish Hall, first floor Fellowship Room, entrance on Spring Street. Singing 7-9 pm. Energetic a cappella community singing originating in the Colonial era -- tunes still being written today. All are welcome, especially newcomers . Books available for loan and purchase. Winter Harbor(June until November)   Contradance with Sheep Island Rovers and Jon Archer calling. An evening of mostly contra dances but few polkas, schottiches, waltzes and other unusual couple dances,at the beautiful historic Hammond hall. 7:30 pm in downtown Winter Harbor (just past the only Bank, on the left). No partners neccessary, all dances are taught. $5 admission. If your coming from a long way bring a sleeping bag and stay the night at our place and see the park on Sunday.
