Music and Dance for the Maine community
English country dancing returns to 317! A living tradition, ECD has for centuries served as a means of community interaction, exercise for the body and mind, and practice of the social graces. Related to New England contra dancing and Scottish country dancing, but generally less physically demanding, ECD is a great way to make friends, challenge short- and long-term memory, and keep those muscles and joints moving. Repertoire ranges from the elegant to the playful, and from 1651 to the present. Class taught by dancing master Robb Spivey. Best of all, you will find yourself transported by live music from our talented house band.
Classes run 11 weeks. No class April 20th. Fee is for the full spring session but will be prorated for those signing up after the first class. Single class fee also available. 317 policy is mask optional, but as dancing is a “contact sport”, masking is requested for those who can.
