Here is something to put on your calendar that should pull you away from that hungry woodstove.\u00a0 Get on out and bring yourself to another<\/strong> First Saturday Cherryfield Contra Dance happening February 4th from 7 to 10pm!\u00a0 <\/b>The host venue for the Dance is still uncertain but the two candidates are right next door to one another.\u00a0 The Cherryfield Academy is our home venue but the Cherryfield American Legion Hall is ready to save the day, as they have 3 times already recently, if the Academy is unable to welcome us through their doors.\u00a0 At one hall or the other we will be privileged to see the return of the Moose Island Contra Etcetra<\/b> band or (MICE:-)<\/b>, a talent pool of Washington County\u2019s finest musicians<\/strong> featuring Alice Schuth on fiddle, Susan Luthin playing octave mandolin and whistle, Joan Lowden on bass, Kara McCrimmin on piano accordion, guitar and Irish whistle and Jim O\u2019Neil playing banjo, button accordion, guitar and bass!\u00a0 Eustacia Landrum will grace the hall as our caller!<\/b>\u00a0 All dances will be taught and everyone is welcome!\u00a0 All ages and all abilities.\u00a0 Spectators curious about Contra Dancing and those who simply love spirited live music are encouraged to come also:-)<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0There will be a refreshment table with snacks, and a hydration station with pitchers of water and cups. You are most welcome to bring contributions to the refreshments, but please try to keep them Covid safe. Masks and sanitizer will be available and their use strongly encouraged. Testing before coming can be extremely helpful, but remember even that is not fool proof.\u00a0 And if you are not feeling well, or know you have been seriously exposed to Covid, or any illness, please refrain from coming.\u00a0 To get to the Cherryfield Academy or the American Legion Hall go to the intersection of Route 1 and Route 193 in Cherryfield and head north on Route 193 for about 200 yards where the buildings are on the right.
