Playing jigs, reels, hambos, waltzes, marches, etc. Music traditions include contradance tunes, Irish, Scottish, Quebecois, Swedish, Southern. Fiddles, guitars, accordions, concertinas, mandolins, dulcimers, etc. welcome. We also have a keyboard available.
Many of our tunes come out of the on-the-go collections – Portland, Waltz Books, Fiddlers Fake Book, Fiddlers Repertoire. We love to try tunes from other places as well. If you have printed copies, bring a few for some of the note readers.
We are a great venue for new musicians looking to play with others, long time players wanting to work out a new tune at a slower pace, or for folks that love to play but just aren’t comfortable at dance tempo. We welcome ear players, sheet music players, and folks somewhere in between.
Every evening is a different mix of tunes depending on what is top of mind for folks that night. We encourage you to come with a few tunes in mind to share throughout the evening.
