The DEFFA Newsletter is a monthly publication of news, information, and listing of dances, music events, and festivals of interest to the folk community in Maine. A subscription to this newsletter is one of the benefits of being a member of DEFFA. With a donation of any amount you may choose to receive the e-mail newsletter. For a donation of at least $20 you may also receive a printed copy. It can take up to 6 weeks for the first issue to arrive.
What goes in the Newsletter?
We seek event listings, news, and articles related to traditional music, dance, and the folk arts in Maine. If you have an event you’d like to see in our newsletter or online, send it in! Articles, artwork, photos, and letters are also welcome. If you have an idea for something you’d like to write or contribute, send a message to the editor (see below.)
We also offer space for advertisements in both the print and online versions of the newsletter if you’d like to feature your event more prominently. See our ad page for info.
Our new event listing program requires you to login to an account on this website to submit an event. Once an account is created and you are logged in, please submit the following information:
Name of event, date & time, venue address & town, performers (if applicable), a brief description, admission fee, and contact information. With the new system you may log in and make changes to your listings as necessary.
Deadline for submissions is the 15th of the month prior to publication
(e.g. May 15th is the deadline for the June Issue.)
