The Middle East meets the Midcoast! Announcing the second annual Armenian Picnic at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground, on Saturday, July 23, from 11am – 4pm. The event features Armenian food from shish kebab and falafel to lamejun and paklava; music by master oud player, Leo Derderian, with Bob Arzigian and friends; crafts, games, and joyful Armenian folk dancing for all. The celebration is presented by the Makers Guild of Maine and the Armenian Cultural Association of Maine, with support from Belfast Flying Shoes. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Proceeds benefit the Mughdusian Studio Center in Yerevan Armenia, which strives to achieve social justice through art. Leave pets at home and dress comfortably. Handicapped parking is available.
